This theme park was opened in 1982 and its name comes from the acronym for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, the original project drawn up by Walt Disney, who had planned to build a future city. Finally, this idea was not carried out. A park based on two main aspects of future society was created instead: technological advances and different cultures of the world. To depict the future worldwide brotherhood, the symbol characterizing this theme park is a huge Spaceship Earth geodesic sphere, together with Mickey’s magic wand. Thus, Epcot has two sections having the style of the World’s Fairs from the beginning of the twentieth century. Here, we show you its best attractions:

Future World:
In this park area, you will find all kinds of attractions related to scientific discovery and nature. Many of the exhibition stands are presented by different companies. The unmissable attractions are:
Spaceship Earth:
it is a journey around the sphere located at the park entrance and the history of communication and technology advances.
Mission: SPACE:
SPACE it is a very popular trip, where centrifugal movements copy the astronauts’ training and a space trip is simulated. Everyone coming here ends up really fascinated.
Innoventions:
in this show, different companies devoted to technology show the latest news and future projects for the creation of new devices.
Soarin’:
it is a hang glider simulator to “fly” over California and its different landscapes.
Honey, I Shrunk the Audience:
this attraction is a three-dimensional movie based on the famous Disney movie Honey, I shrunk the kids. In this case, the audience feels small before the huge images, sounds and feelings. Laughs are guaranteed!
The Living Seas:
it is one of the best aquariums in the world, having dolphins and fishes of all kinds, to deeply explore sea life secrets. It has computers providing information about fishes. People who can dive will be able to swim with sea animals. The great beauty of the oceans is here, near the audience.
The Seas with Nemo and Friends:
inside the aquarium, kids and grown-ups can enjoy Nemo´s trip step by step, exactly as the movie shows. Besides, you can talk to Crush, the sea turtle from Finding Nemo.
Body Wars:
this attraction simulates a trip inside the human body, thanks to the effect caused by motion seats and a movie showing incredibly real images. Both an entertaining and educational way of learning.
Circle of Life Theater:
this attraction is a show of Lion King characters, highlighting the necessary ecologic care to protect the planet against damages caused by humans.
World Showcase:
This Epcot area tries to show the culture of different countries in the world, as a World’s Fair, an event carried out in the first half of the twentieth century. Eleven countries are represented through big buildings, typical of each place: United States, Mexico, Canada, United Kingdom, Norway, Italy, Germany, France, China, Japan and Morocco. In each pavilion, you will be able to get to know the habits, customs, food and music typical of the country and, besides, the staff assisting the public is native of each place. There is also tourist information about the countries, provided by each country’s tourist office. In all cases, nations’ pavilions are supported by the corresponding countries. Mexico:
this country is represented by a Mayan/Aztec pyramid. You can go around Friend’s Square, a typical Mexican fair where handicrafts can be bought. Near the square, there is San Angel Inn, having the best and spiciest food of the country. Another attraction is going on a boat trip around the River of Time, where you can enjoy Mexico's history from pre-Columbian times till today.
Japan:
the center of this pavilion is a several-floor pagoda and, besides, multiple Japanese-style gardens and water sources. There, you can get to know Japan’s culture and enjoy its special music. There is a store selling all types of Japanese items, specially related to anime and comics. It is also highly recommendable to taste the exquisite Japanese food from Teppanyaki Dining Room, where the cook makes the best dishes in front of the public.
France:
as expected, this pavilion distinguishing symbol is Eiffel Tower. People can go around a typical Parisian neighborhood and go over its stores, replica of the actual ones. There are two restaurants having the best cookery from the best French cooks and a bakery with all types of delights. Besides, there is a movie shown on this pavilion, devoted to the cities of France and its amazing historical monuments.
Apart from the places mentioned, Epcot has a very popular attraction, IllumiNations, a fireworks and laser show, where Earth evolution history is represented, from the beginning of creation till the twentieth century. This show tries to promote brotherhood in the world for the future.
